Summary

Like many of us, James Lindsay is no stranger to stress and anxiety. But in his case, leaving those struggles untreated led to a full psychotic episode that hospitalized him for the better part of a month. With the help of medication and therapy, he has now overcome this dark period and is currently living a much happier life.

But his story doesn't end there. Now, he wants to help others avoid the same fate by sharing his experience, including the red flags he recognizes in hindsight and the path he charted to recovery. No matter where you are on your own journey, James' story will resonate and remind you, as he puts it, that "recovery is always possible, and hope is never far away".

i love this book. I admire the author's honesty and also loved his tips and books to improve your recovery. I wish I could have read it years ago..

What a great story of an inspiring journey 👏🏻

Just brilliant, a fascinating insight into a less known mental illness, an outstanding audiobook and I highly recommend it to anyone. The author is very honest and doesn't hold back, articulating what psychosis feels like very well. Such a great example of the human spirit and determination to overcome adversity, give it a listen!

An inspirational story

Having read the book and shared its message with many I was not sure whether the audible version would add value. It sure does, alongside the narration by the author himself, there are interviews with his mum, friend and girlfriend that add so much depth to this story. The narration by James is genuine and brings you closer to his real character, a thoroughly nice guy who has been through so much, but shares it all so honestly. Highly recommended read.

Scarily Relateble

I am 26 and have been diagnosed with Psychosis for a couple of years, but have had symptoms before that. There are many interesting similarities in my experience that are discussed also in this book, actually it’s almost scary. The advise on recovery is very realistic and aligns with my experience, I would advise anyone with psychosis or similar difficulties, or people wanting to know a little about what it’s like, to definitely give this a listen.

Very comfortable and enjoyable experience.

I hope others struggling in the same way find this well, as I have.

Wow.
