About this listen

The best-selling sci-fi thriller that blends healthy living and lots of dying

Ben Stone is terrified. He's terrified because he weighs 601 pounds and needs his right leg amputating. He's terrified because a crane will shortly lift him from his fourth-floor flat and lower him 44 feet to an ambulance waiting below. He's terrified because he hasn't been outside in nine years, and he doesn't know who will look after his beautiful dog.

He needn't worry, though, because the world is about to end.

Finish this book in 24 hours it was so engaging. I cried, I laughed and I learnt. For a dystopian book that's a pretty amazing...makes a nice change from constant matcho bullsh*t gratuitous violence, the odd sprinkling of gruesome was perfect !! Have bought second one immediately.

The protagonist is a beautiful mix of broken person with extremely deep wells of fortitude they didn't know they had.

It’s only Feb - but I know that this will be my book of the year. Superb ending, superb story telling, superb - everything. I can’t put it into words and I’m an English teacher!

Absolutely brilliant

this unique perspective on the zombie apocalypse makes this book a must-read. however, there's only so much you can say about one man (and his dog) in one room for 6 months it was a long introspective monologue with flashbacks that I usually find extremely boring and tedious but the unique perspective kept me interested however i but I felt it was very restrained and was lacking in some kind of big finish but was an enjoyable read but i probably wont re read it

unique perspective on a zombie apocalypse

It's the end of the world as Ben knows it.. and he's dealing with the apocalypse incredibly well - considering he's supersized and constantly being plagued by Karl's incessant rantings! I can't wait to read the next installment of this and see where Ben and Brown end up.

Loved this!

The book that truly shows a man’s love for his dog. A real puller of heart strings.

A unique twist on a classic post-apocalyptic world
