Bob has successfully outed himself as a dragon, claimed the town of Fidler's Mill as his own, and secured the affection of the best barmaid in town. Having ascended to the lowest ranks of Imperial nobility, he finds new and lucrative opportunities opening up, and the possibility of vastly increasing his hoard seems to be in his grasp. Just when Bob's new life seems to be looking good…

The shady business-teen, Dagliesh, and his looming henchman, Big Kenny, need a favour that puts Bob's avaricious dreams on hold. Bob possesses a writ of nobility, meaning he can go places that the gangster cannot, but mixing with the nobility always brings problems, especially when his orders involve assassinating an old enemy and framing a powerful aristocrat.

Bob ends the human slave trade by eating two dwarves and a pixie in a trenchcoat (ketchup recommended), accidentally starting an imperial civil war in the process. He finds himself embroiled in gladiatorial combat and, in exchange for a cut of the betting take, agrees to further matches.

Stacking shinies and acquiring sweet evolutions might seem like simple goals, but the universe seems determined to make his life difficult.
