After a traumatic incident three months prior, sixteen year old Ophelia Allan is starting over at Raven's Cove Academy, a prestigious boarding school nestled in the quiet town of Ashton, New Hampshire. But her new home isn't as quiet as it seems...

After her roommate and best friend dies with a strange symbol carved in her hand, Ophelia is thrust into a world of demonic mayhem, and must infiltrate the academy's secret society to track down her best friend's killer.

That isn't easy, however, when she becomes the prime suspect in the investigation as more students die with the same symbol carved into their palm. Add to that the immortal demon headmaster of Raven's Cove Academy has his eyes set on Ophelia, and she has a lot to contend with.

With the help of Dorian Whitmore, the hot guy with eyes of silver and secrets of his own, Ophelia might have a chance at beating the odds, but will she come out victorious, or will she be too late to stop the murderer's end game?

This was such a great story which was told incredibly well. Scholte captured the teenage heroine wonderfully and the emotion shown at times had me close to tears - a great performance! I'll be keeping an eye out for this author and narrator in the future.

Caldwell has built a really engaging world - dark academia vibes with plenty of twists that kept me hooked throughout. Scholte does a great job of giving each character a distinct personality while letting Ophelia's voice stand out. She delivers excitement, tension and emotion that match the story perfectly.

A brilliant listen - I’ll definitely be continuing the series.
