Mitch has a problem. His buddy has been hiding a starship from him.

Mitch's mediocre life has just taken a turn for the worse, so his buddy tries to cheer him up by showing him a secret starship. Unfortunately, everything goes south when hostile aliens arrive. In an effort to save his buddy and the starship from the aliens, Mitch does the obvious thing: he accidentally warps hundreds of light-years away.

Marooned in a distant star cluster, Mitch is forced to deal with a snarky teenage AI, a rogue auto-pilot, and a beautiful alien soldier who's ready to steal his ship at any moment—so she can fight an oppressive military faction, of course.

Will Mitch simply use the starship to return home? Or will his attractive, though slightly frustrating, new co-pilot convince him to help the struggling Resistance movement?

One of the few books that grabbed me from the start, and I found hard to put down!
I found myself using any spare moments to carry on listening, especially since the chapters were quite long and I had to pause the story frequently to get anything done! The only criticisms are that the narrator needs to do a little more work on his female voices, and the dumbest things Mich does, that anyone else could easily see coming, more of an anti-hero than hero...made me despair! I'm looking forward to reading the follow up, to see if Mich can actually stop being a wimp for once, and take charge!

An interesting and engaging tale that was extremely well read, from the quiet farmlands of North America to distant star systems with a hormonally challenged AI all thrown into the mix onboard a prototype alien spacecraft, what could go wrong.... great story, great potential for more...
