All Shane wanted was to get away from the wreckage of his career for a while. He picked New York City to provide him with a distraction from his early, unwanted retirement from the police force. New York City delivered, distracting him with three corpses and a miniature llama with a spitting problem and attitude.

If he wants to return to a normal life, he’ll have to face off against a sex trafficking ring targeting the woman of his dreams, ancient vampires, murderous criminals, his parents, and an FBI agent with a hidden agenda. Some days, it isn’t easy being an ex-cop.

I completely forgive the complete absence of spice in this series. A rom com prn standalone, full of absurd situations, supernatural creatures and a bit of gore too. when the werewolf idea of disarming his opponent was to actually detach the entire arm and use it as a club to attack the next foe I was in stiches.
Don't expect a profound story with intricate plot and world build. This is fun and lighthearted, just what i needed.
Great narration.

To my surprise, I really enjoyed this book. A twisted shifter story that hits the funny bone. Great performance,

This was the first book I read by RJ Blain, and it is still a favourite. It is full of wonderful characters and sneaky humour. I particularly love Shane’s parents, a pair of totally bonkers werewolves. It is excellently performed by Wesley Nelson who has narrated several others in this series.

One to enjoy.
