The Sentinels were never malfunctioning. They were following orders.

Admiral Quinton Aldren has finally found the means to fight back, but even that may not be enough. The Sentinel fleets outnumber his forces more than fifty to one, and they are no longer hunting scattered survivors. They are massing for a galaxy-spanning incursion that will leave no world untouched.

Quinton’s only hope lies in a fragile alliance of bitter enemies, salvagers, mercenaries, and refugees. They have ships and weapons but lack the discipline and unity to survive what’s coming. To forge them into a fighting force, he must awaken thousands of soldiers hidden since the Federation Wars and transform a generation taught to flee the Sentinels into one willing to stand against them.

Every PMC he rescues strengthens the Alliance. Every activation draws the enemy closer.

Quinton can command machines at the speed of thought, but he cannot command trust. The Acheron Confederation was condemned by a lie. Now its last commander must lead the fight against a tyrannical enemy, and give the galaxy one final chance to be free.

From the author of the international bestselling First Colony series comes the next fast-paced military science fiction adventure in the Federation Chronicles, filled with massive fleet battles, dangerous artificial intelligence, unlikely alliances, and a fight to reclaim humanity’s future. Acheron Redemption is Book 3 in the Federation Chronicles.

the story was rich and I was gutted it was only 3 books. Can this story line continue?

the story line, Ken always nails it

Having been reminded by Audible that I had read the first two books in the Acheron series, although i had little recollection of them, I expected this book would follow suit.

The story and dialogue is sadly incredibly dull and, for the most part, it felt like listening to someone reading a technical manual as a bedtime story. It’s hard to say whether this was down to the narrator on the actual book itself but I find it difficult to recommend this book despite the potential of a good story.

High hopes but the dullest book this author has written
