The cats are back!

Her brief return to Earth is at an end, and Florence Valentine is ready to start rebuilding her dungeon.

Florence and Doug have big plans for their new home, but all is not well in the world of Aerkon. A bargain struck with the lich Berikoz may cost her more than she realized, and it seems like everyone wants to see her new home destroyed.

Liches, dungeon pests, evil adventurers, and powerful guilds stand against her, and Florence’s allies are few and far between. Will Florence, Doug, and her kitty defenders be strong enough to protect everything they’ve built?

A delightful second outing in a series that continues to deliver one of the most wonderfully unique premises in the entire LitRPG genre: a grumpy, cat-obsessed grandmother reincarnated as a dungeon core.

The pacing remains lively and entertaining as Florence continues to expand her cozy, feline-themed dungeon. This time, the stakes are dialed up as she has to navigate political pressure, unwanted adventurer incursions, and the titular pact with a far more sinister entity. Watching her balance high-stakes dungeon management with her unwavering commitment to making everything as cat-friendly as possible makes for a great blend of humor and progression.

Florence remains a standout protagonist in the genre. Her unwavering "get off my lawn" attitude, paired with a relentless passion for feline aesthetics, makes her interactions with both allies and invaders absolute gold. She approaches terrifying magical threats with the same stern resolve she’d use to scold a noisy neighbor, giving the story a unique charm that sets it apart from typical dungeon-builder fiction.

Andrea Parsneau is an absolute powerhouse. Her performance as Florence is perfection, capturing the character’s age, stubborn warmth, and indignation flawlessly. Parsneau gives every cat, adventurer, and magical creature a distinct voice, bringing immense energy to the action while hitting every comedic beat with expert timing. She remains one of the absolute best narrators in the business.

The combination of Henegar’s creative premise and Parsneau’s stellar narration makes Lich's Bargain a thoroughly enjoyable follow-up that builds on the original without losing any of its cozy charm.

Looking forward to the next book in this series. It is an intriguing story and left enough of a cliffhanger to leave me frustrated over not be able to directly buy the next book, but I'll have to wait until when it arrives. I can recommend this so far and has not been disappointed.

Excellent second book.

It took a while to get going, and by the time I was getting into this one i noticed there was only 3 hours or so left.
Characters introduced then hardly used. Felt abridged.

Avoiding spoilers, but I felt the end of the book was bad, and the setup for the next book makes me wonder if I want to spend the credit point to unlock it or not.... the next one is the last one so I will likely, just to finish the whole story... but giving the ending of this one...I worry the next one just wont be good.

That said it was read beautifully and i can not image another voice used for the characters.

Not as good as the first book but enjoyable
