Inspired by myth, fairy tale, and folklore, number one New York Times best-selling author Leigh Bardugo has crafted a deliciously atmospheric collection of short stories filled with betrayals, revenge, sacrifice, and love.

Enter the Grishaverse.... Love speaks in flowers. Truth requires thorns.

Travel to a world of dark bargains struck by moonlight, of haunted towns and hungry woods, of talking beasts and gingerbread golems, where a young mermaid's voice can summon deadly storms and where a river might do a lovestruck boy's bidding but only for a terrible price.

Perfect for new listeners and dedicated fans, the tales in The Language of Thorns will transport you to lands both familiar and strange - to a fully realized world of dangerous magic that millions have visited through the novels of the Grishaverse.

These stories bring new magic and deepen old enchantments of the Grishaverse like never before. Whether this is your fist Leigh Bardugo or you are a well seasoned fan, these riveting stories will grab your attention from the first sentence, and hold you tight in its web till long after the finall tale is ended. The descriptions lacquer and embellish the wild universe Bardugo has conjured for you, bringing colour and palpable magic to your mind. Old characters like the Darkling will make an appearance to haunt the stories, and brilliant new characters too - an enchanted nutcracker, a Grisha mermaid, and a vengeful gingerbread child, knocking on the door to an unsuspecting couple. So, if you dare, come forth, open the door, and breath the world of the Grisha...

If you are a Grishaverse fan this is sure to delight. That last story in particular. Lauren Fortgang could narrate a phonebook and I’d enjoy it but luckily she narrates Leigh Bardugo books so we have wonderful stories narrated by a voice I could listen to for days.

Lovers of the Grishaverse rejoice!
