About this listen

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable, audiobook edition of The New Case for Gold written and read by James Rickards.

In The New Case for Gold, James Rickards explains why gold is one of the safest assets for investors in times of political instability and market volatility, and how every investor should look to add gold to his or her portfolio.

Drawing on historical case studies, monetary theory and his personal experience as an investor, Rickards argues that gold should be a part of any prudent investor's portfolio.

Critic reviews

The New Case for Gold reminds us that wayward policies bring about a search for money that is good as gold. What better than gold itself?
Excellent ... Rickards makes a compelling case for why those looking for a way to protect themselves and their families from economic chaos created by central bankers should consider gold. (Ron Paul, former US congressman and presidential candidate)
James Rickards gifts us once again with his clarity of prose, depth of experience and sound analysis ... An illuminating, original argument for gold as a critical contender in today's money games. The most important book on gold yet. (Nomi Prins, author of All the Presidents' Bankers)
We can't trust the Federal Reserve to do the honest work that Jim Rickards has done in writing this book ... Essential reading. (David A. Stockman, former OMB director and author of The Great Deformation)

I like that Jim covered all aspects of Gold, the good the bad and the ugly!

As a investor outside of the US I understand my personal risk more beign in a Emerging Market country.

Thank you Jim for your views and making the Case for Gold especially in todays uncertain financial climate.

A must read for every investor!

Jim's understanding of monetary policy, fiat currencies history and insider information of government behaviour makes his new case for gold hard to argue against. He cleverly combines simple facts, statistical evidence and complexity theory to paint a clear picture for a new case of the oldest, truest form of money. I cannot wait to get stuck into his two other books.

Compelling, fact based and unapologetically honest

Gentlemen have you ever experienced the sensation in between reviving a kick in the bollix and the pain setting in, those few seconds of technicolour sight and sound where your senses are overloaded? Ladies have you ever had that moment of clarity whereby you have had one glass of Prosecco too many and your girlfriend is holding back your hair whilst you communicate with the other world on the white porcelain telephone? James offers this rare moment in The New Case for Gold. This book by James Rickards cuts straight through the complexity of the bullion business and makes a simple case. The narrative is engaging, the subject matter compelling and in today’s world, has never been more relevant for our time.
Thank you James.
