The Great Time War has raged for centuries, ravaging the universe. Scores of human colony planets are now overrun by Dalek occupation forces. A weary, angry Doctor leads a flotilla of Battle TARDISes against the Dalek stronghold but in the midst of the carnage, the Doctor's TARDIS crashes to a planet below: Moldox.

As the Doctor is trapped in an apocalyptic landscape, Dalek patrols roam amongst the wreckage, rounding up the remaining civilians. But why haven't the Daleks simply killed the humans?

Searching for answers the Doctor meets 'Cinder', a young Dalek hunter. Their struggles to discover the Dalek plan take them from the ruins of Moldox to the halls of Gallifrey, and set in motion a chain of events that will change everything. And everyone.

Read by Nicholas Briggs, the 'voice of the Daleks' in Doctor Who, this epic novel of the Great Time War features the War Doctor as played by John Hurt in the hit BBC TV series. Reading produced by Neil Gardner.Sound design by Simon Hunt.Executive producer: Michael Stevens.

I have always been sceptical about Dr Who books, but this changes my mind, top story and top narration, Nicholas Biggs is excellent, especially doing a John Hurt voice (yes he was a Dr Who)

Call a Dr this is 5 star!

Just as entertaining as watching on TV. Narration is awesome, only lacking female character voicing.. However, 10/10 for effort!

Recommend for Dr Who and sci-fi fans alike!

Distinct characters throughout, allowing you to instantly identify each without any prompting or thought to the matter. Dramatic narration of situations and scenes that are perfectly isolated from that of dramatic character speech.. yet totally inclusive of each moment where the two combine. I simply found, for my personal preference that female narration of female characters would have made this perfect. But make no mistake, this is a masterclass in narrating multiple characters and setting the right tone to the right scene!

Very well written including many of the details one would care about and simply bypassing non-essential jibber-jabber just to fill pages.. enough to tip ones imagination past thinking and into seeing it for ones self.

Great Dr Who story!

It was great to see how the time war consumed the Time Lords and how the doctor came to the decision to end it. Loved the voice overs and the sound effects as well. Brilliant!

Loved it!

The question has to be asked, why are we watching average TV Dr Who stories when there is writing of this caliber available. Open your eyes Mr Moffat. I enjoyed this story far more than any dalek story than most of your hit and lmiss seasons. This would make a great movie.

Absolute masterpiece
