Summary

From Snuff:

Vimes looked at the cover. The title was The World of Poo. When his wife was out of eyeshot he carefully leafed through it. Well, okay, you had to accept that the world had moved on and these days’ fairy stories were probably not going to be about twinkly little things with wings. As he turned page after page, it dawned on him that whomever had written this book, they certainly knew what would make kids like Young Sam laugh until they were nearly sick. The bit about sailing down the river almost made him smile. But interspersed with the scatology was actually quite interesting stuff about septic tanks and dunnakin divers and gongfermors and how dog muck helped make the very best leather, and other things that you never thought you would need to know, but once heard somehow lodged in your mind.

Helen Atkinson-Wood is an actress and presenter. She is probably best known as Mrs. Miggins in Blackadder the Third. She has been twice nominated by The British Comedy Awards - Best Female Performer - for BBC's Radio Active and KYTV. She starred in Ben Elton's West End play Silly Cow and guests on QI and Have I Got News for You. Helen enjoys poo picking in Suffolk, where she has a horse and a home.

Excellent

Well what else would you expect from the TP's pen. For those familiar with Disc World this is a clever tale woven around the characters that you love. LISTEN TO IT.

Lovely Little package.

Nice introduction for the little kiddies, me thinks.

I am disappointed that Sam Vime's Jr was not involved, but hey, not going to stop me reading this to my grandchildren.

Different

It was a little bit different than what I thought it would be. The story line is good don't know if anyone else would like it but do.

Hesitated to purchase as it was so short.

But ever so glad I did. Adorable story all about the delights of poo. If you have any young boys in your life it’s definitely worth a listen.

not for me

What disappointed you about The World of Poo?

I could not get the fun from it but i could not say why. Perhaps I`m too old for this one.

Would you ever listen to anything by Terry Pratchett again?

Oh yes I have many of his books on audio and print.

Would you be willing to try another one of Helen Atkinson-Wood’s performances?

I am not sure Miriam Margolyes is a better narrator but for Mr Pratchett work I prefer Stephen Briggs.
