In these witty and comic stories, Horace Rumpole takes on a variety of clients and activities. He, of course, brings each case to a successful end, all the while quoting poetry and drinking claret.

I enjoyed these stories very much. They're funny, heart warming and slightly politically incorrect. It would been a straight 5 stars, but I just dropped one on the overall rating, because the volume varied a bit, so it wasn't quite as easy to listen to while driving as some audiobooks. That's a very minor point though on what was otherwise a very enjoyable listen.

Beautifully read, complements the story perfectly. The English language and poetry as it should be spoken.

Always leaves you wanting more.

I can’t find any higher praise for this collection of legal adventures that would top that which has already been expressed by the countless Mortimer fans.
However “If Your Lordship pleases” may I say that the choice of Robert Hardy as narrator was indeed inspired. Superb.

This audible book is great on all levels- the contents, the narrator- the plots. Gripping stories and a bit of humour thrown in for good measure. Loved it.

Brilliant and entertaining

Some of the comments are a bit of their time, with everyday sexism well evident, but generally I liked the style of this. The plots are witty and the characters are fun!
