About this listen

A megalomaniac god is pursuing a millennia-old vendetta, and Leif must learn to wrangle a newly awakened power to either become a hero or a villain. Listener received this title free

This book did a good job of mixing Norse mythology into a modern day starting point, with such an ambitious premise it did start out a little slow as it needed to do quite a bit of world-building, but things did pick up steadily to deliver a book that works well both as the opening part of a series and as a standalone read in it's own right too.

The narration felt like a good fit with the tone of the book and the narrator's range ensured that a varied cast remained readily distinguishable.

Overall, an enjoyable listen and a strong opening to this series.
