With his peaceful life as a scholar far behind him and his ever-growing mountain of debt to the Department of Taxation hanging over him, Jonathan can't afford to play it safe. If he wants to get his castle back, he'll need to take a few risks. At least he's not facing danger alone.

Or maybe it doesn't when "all" includes elementals, zombies, and only the gods know what else. After all, nothing says probable death like a dragon with a smile.

Oh well. Jonathan might not be a fan of probable death… but he'll take it over certain death any day of the week.

I enjoyed the previous two books in these series and I sort of enjoyed this one. Though I felt the story was a little to forced and it struggled with itself to be better than the previous books. The author could really have done more of the same rather than try to eclipse the previous books. Still, saying that it’s a good book and worth getting if you are invested in the poor vampires story.
