About this listen

The system came. The apocalypse ended. Now new worlds have merged with Earth.

For Bain Lee, it means leveling his Ocularist class beyond its previous limits. With this strange class and the ability to see into the inner workings of the system, he may find the magic skills needed to earn his redemption. Not only that, but he might discover the secret behind the system itself.

It is a little strange what the mc can do and that no one ever heard about it before, since the class is known (although not well) and the main ability used is available at fairly early level.

In the long run it gets a little anoying how much everybody praises the mc all the time. (It is not needed, so just get on with the story.)

But otherwise the story and narrator is ok.

So if you like reasonable progress type litrpg with low level of stats, this is a fine choice.

Praise the MC

The concept and world building hooked me, a great looking class system and the way the story is framed is really neat. But due to the MC having this "smarter than you" way of speaking near the end of the first book and the start of the second, the other characters feeling less like characters and more just like extensions of the MC and the endless praise the MC get's for not a lot of work just makes the work fall flat on it's face. I would not recommend reading unless you're into that kinda thing. I've had to return the second book simply because this random person who has never met the MC, started to give an unnecessary amount of praise on the MC in a way that would not work for a negotiation in any reasonable extent.

Good concept poor execution
