Summary

Creswell Springs is a small town in Trinity County, California. Population 1,500 - maybe. It's a quiet town, with small town values. Its greatest income is the university just outside of the town limits...and the revenue the local motorcycle club brings in.

Being part of the MC that was Angel's Halo was exactly like being part of a family. A scary, powerful, crazy family. It was also like its own society. There are rules, just as there are in every family, every society. But only breaking one of their rules will leave you in a broken, bloody pile on the floor....

No one touches Raven Hannigan.

Raven

I was the MC's only weakness. Or so my father use to tell me as I was growing up. Mad Max Hannigan was once Angel's Halos' president. He made the rules and everyone was expected to follow them or come face to fist with the enforcer....

I have spent my life in the middle of the MC. I knew the rules - the penalties for breaking those rules. So I knew what would happen to him if I let him break the golden rule.... But I loved him, like I have never loved anyone or anything before. I thought my love would protect him.

Of course it hadn't. When our secret was discovered he was beaten.

So I shouldn't blame him for leaving me....

Bash

As the enforcer I knew the consequences. Knew exactly what was in store for me when Raven's family found out that I had dared to break my MC's unforgivable rule. I loved her, so it didn't matter to me. When her oldest brother delivered my punishment I didn't scream. Didn't groan. I took it like the man my MC had made me, and would have done it over and over again if that was what it took to be able to call Raven Hannigan mine.

But then my past reared its ugly head and I had a choice to make. One that I have only lived to regret.

Taking on the job as Angel's Halos' new president was my second chance. But...would my secrets destroy everything Raven and I once had?

Ok but didn’t blow me away

Bit short and didn’t quite feel worth a credit. Focuses on a few different characters’ stories and I’m sure this will continue into the next book as only one story was concluded in this instalment, so it just feels like the whole story has been chopped up to get more book sales. I might keep the next one on my wishlist if it’s a slow day and I can’t make up my kind and I want a filler easy listen book. There’s much better, and many much worse, MC books out there. Though, oddly, it didn’t seem as ‘club house’ and ‘family’ like as most MC books so it lacked something. More like guys who go to a pub and sometimes cause trouble together. Just an ok book all round.

Good MC series!

What made the experience of listening to Angel's Halo the most enjoyable?

The narrators were great at bringing the various characters to life.

Any additional comments?

While I really enjoyed this story my only complaint is the various POVs in the book. I care about the side characters and I do want to read about them but would have preferred to get more on Raven and Bash.

Could to be so much better

This story has the potential to be great but the author has WAY too many character stories going on at that same time to keep track of what is going on with whom. Gets pretty frustrating after a while.

Good but lacking

Firstly, let me just say the performance on this book was so beyond screwy. Could the women have sound any more whiney? Only putting the speed up to 1.5 made them bearable. And the guys? Jesus, it was comical how 'bad' they sounded. Talk about growling lol.

Then, there's how big a douche Bash is and how Raven's valid disappointment and hurting is washed over.

The timeline was all over the place too. Jumping back and forth in a way that didn't build suspense just irritated.

I'm going to listen to book 2 because I'm a masochist but there is something I enjoy about the book, but I just wish the stories had been developed better... I actually think it's the characters. They're strong but the story isn't somehow.

great MC series!

This is a fast pace story with varying POVs. At first I was a bit skeptical but it turned out to be fantastic! I'm liking this style of writing. This is Bash and Raven's story, with a little bit of the sub characters' lives interspersed. Raven has loved Bash, former Enforcer of the Angel's Halo MC, since before she was 'legal'. Bash finally gave in when she turned 18 and they had a secret affair...because no one in the MC was to touch the Hanigan sister!! When the secret was out, Bash was severely beaten by Raven's oldest brother...before he gave his blessing. Except, Bash then walked away without a word to Raven. Now a couple of years later and he is back to take over the position as club president, since Raven's brother is in prison. Will Raven forgive Bash for leaving? Why DID Bash leave so suddenly and will Raven be able to get over the reason?
Great story...looking forward to the rest of the series!

I’m not sure about this series yet

I’m not exactly sure how I feel about this series yet. I like the fact that they have many different narrators for the many different characters. This book does not have one Hero and one Heroine it has many. The book tells little tidbits about, at least, four different couples. Obviously, if the short length of the novel is taken into account, it is apparent that no story is focused on or resolved. It’s like this series is written like a weekly soap opera. I’m holding final judgment until I listen to more of the series

mc

Really good story . But 19 years old serving alcohol in a bar is illegal in california the U.S. overall. The female narrator starting the story was reading sloppily confusing Raven's jealous of a little girl. Other than that really good plot line
