About this listen
When Greta and her husband move home to Ash Grove, Alabama, they learn they are not the only newcomers to town. The ancient enemy of Greta's family has finally found them and he is there to destroy the family.
For a hundred years, they had been safe, and now, even though most of the family no longer believes in their eternal hunter, he is there to prove them wrong. As Greta feels each grisly death in her family, she realizes that it is up to her to stop their ancient enemy once and for all, or die trying.
©1995, 2015 Richard A. Bamberg (P)2018 Richard A. BambergUnbeknownst to her, Greta's family had suffered greatly over the years due to a monstrous and seemingly immortal enemy who would keeping finding them and wiping out as much of a generation as he could before the others escaped and now he has returned to finally finish this work. Beyond the basic premise of the book, the author has used a number of interesting ideas to further enhance the overall story and has a cast of relatively normal people who are thrown into this horrific situation.
The choice of this narrator was a very good one, she really manages to bring the main character to life with her performance while also managing to be sufficiently distinctive with the rest of the supporting cast too, nicely enhancing the book in the process.
Overall, this was another enjoyable listen from this author and a nicely self-contained story.
