About this listen

Is loader worth dying for?

Here is your modest size appetiser for the series. Much shorter than my life. Hi, I am Min. My story takes you to a dying Earth where hope is as rare as the life that once flourished. Lez and I, united by love and a desperate mission to save humanity, are determined to find the last remaining loader—a being with the power to change everything. Something about us persuaded Vist to help relocate our people to a distant colony beneath a red star. And this book is just beginning.

I liked most about Act & Vist is how much atmosphere and intrigue it packed into such a short listen. The world of a dying Earth felt bleak yet hopeful, and the bond between Min and Lez gave the story real emotional weight. This was a strong introduction that promises even more adventure to come.

I really enjoyed how this short prequel immediately pulled me into a dying Earth setting full of tension, love, and desperate hope. I liked most was how the author managed to build such a strong emotional connection between Min and Lez while also hinting at the larger mysteries surrounding the loader and Vist. This little appetizer left me hungry for more.

A great appetizer for the next installment in the series. I have listened to Object and Visit (the first book), and I listened to this one in preparation for Visit and Propaganda, which are coming next.

The narration is solid, with good voice acting, something that characterizes this franchise and really helps immerse you in the world. Unlike the other books, this one doesn’t have a complicated timeline jumping back and forth, so it might be a great starting point for the saga and a way to better understand the lore.

A solid prequel!
