Editor reviews
The first book in Radclyffe's Honor series introduces Blair Powell, the headstrong daughter of the President of the United States who chafes at the Secret Service's constant surveillance. Things change when Cameron Roberts is assigned to watch her, and the two women develop a deep and forbidden attraction to each other, with Cameron caught between her duty and her love. In a forceful yet nuanced performance, Abby Craden conveys Cameron's hardened interior as it begins to melt around the seductive Blair, whose standoffish attitude morphs into something more vulnerable and quivering, her voice capturing the messiness of their illicit desire.
Summary
The first in the Honor series, Above All, Honor introduces single-minded Secret Service Agent Cameron Roberts and the woman she is sworn to protect - Blair Powell, the daughter of the President of the United States. Cam's duty is her life - and the only thing that keeps her from self-destructing under the unbearable weight of her own deep personal tragedy. However, she hasn't counted on the fact that the beautiful, willful first daughter will do anything in her power to escape the watchful eyes of her protectors, including seducing the agent in charge. Both women struggle with long-hidden secrets and dark passions as they are forced to confront their growing attraction amidst the escalating danger drawing ever closer to Blair. From the dark shadows of rough trade bars in Greenwich Village to the elite galleries of Soho, each must balance duty with desire and, ultimately, choose between love and honor.

superb
wow very powerful, grieving soul meets lost soul, but that's too easy to describe the complex emotions involved, and we only have one background, for Blair has a hidden secret ,outside of her clandestine club sexual release, and there is no narrator better to express passion from paper to airwave. I'm buying book 2 without the sample being necessary. superb writing.

Implausibly beautiful and gym toned characters rules by their overwhelming lusts. Pandering to worst stereotypes. The author can write drama. Just needs better portrayal of lesbians that is truer to life.

Passion, Duty, Honor
This is THE lesbian Secret Service series. It’s all about passion versus duty, and danger versus excitement.
Agent Cameron Roberts is sworn to protect the daughter of the United States President, Blair Powell.
Both women have dark secrets, (that they’re lesbians, perhaps?) and of course Blair is the willful spoiled one who wants to do whatever she wants and get away with it. She decides to seduce Cameron (and of course, Cam dutifully, painfully tries to resist!)
Blair gets in danger (there’s a stalker) and Cam has to rescue her. This sets up the ULTIMATE, satisfying sex scene.
Abby Craden is just so versatile, she brings all they tension you could want to this racy thriller.

Blink and you'll miss it
There is no denying that the great Radclyffe has bought us a fine character in secret service agent Cameron Roberts ,strong, hot , racked with guilt and fighting the feelings she knows she shouldn't be having for the presidents daughter ,the feisty Blair Powell, the young woman she has been appointed to protect.
This would have been great if it didn't seemed rushed and nothing more than a set up for the sequel which you get a taste of at the end of this book .
Personally I felt short changed it felt like she had to force every cliche in the book ,in the book and once all the boxes where ticked it was sequel time .
She has me and I will read the next installment ,just be aware this book is just a really long prolog .

Awful
The book has no chemistry and is very robotic. The main character Blair is a reckless petulant self absorbed woman. She likes to just sleep with everything insight because she’s pining for the other character. Author doesn’t show any kind of courting between main characters. How dumb is that?? Cam is closed off I didn’t mind her at all, the book runs in circles and “she can’t be recognized, no one knows who I am” how the hell can they not know when you’re on tv?!!?? Book was not believable at all everything was forced. “Blair doesn’t do this” character continues throughout the book to do certain acts that she doesn’t usually do. I’m glad this book was free.

A Legendary Author
What did you love best about Above All, Honor?
As with every book by Radclyffe, the plot is compelling.
What other book might you compare Above All, Honor to and why?
If I HAD to pick another book that I would compare to the "Honor" series, it may be "The Lonely Hearts Club". It's hard to say.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene is when Cam snatches Blair from a club when Blair least expects it.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
A sacrifice for love.
Any additional comments?
Radclyffe is in the top 99% of Lesbian Fiction authors. I look forward to many more books, as well as the books authored by LL Raand.

Despite Some Highlights....
There are several certainties in any book written by Radclyffe; two women who view the world differently; from divergent backgrounds will clash initially. However they will also feel a great passion for each other and after a few mandatory missteps they will inevitably be overcome by their feelings and unrequited love will be requited. Among the two principal characters in this one Agent Cameron Roberts is what you'd expect from a woman in Federal Law Enforcement. She's crisp, highly organized and very disciplined. The other protagonist; the president's daughter Blair Powell is a character who is not well cast in a lead role. She is a bitchy, whiny, self centered, self involved twit who perceives a few days in a luxury hotel as a major impediment to her happiness. She evidently has no problem pulling childish stunts that present a risk either to the agent's career, or worse, their lives. This book also gives a one chapter sneak peek at the sequel to this selection and her behavior presents just as self indulgent as it did in this book. Thus, I not only can't recommend this book; I'll avoid any subsequent books in the series.

Uhm... IDK
I honestly don't have much to say after listening to this title. The potential was there I guess, but I didn't really enjoy how the author went about the story line. It was just a whole bunch of sex.
I was feeling the interactions between Blair and Cam, but all they were really were glances here and there and then there was the occasional times when Blair pretty much just groped and felt Cam up while Cam tried so hard to resist. And then wham! All of a sudden Cam got shot and there's just random declarations of love and then they're having sex. Maybe I missed something, yeah I probably did... Cause I can't get how they go from this crazy sexual tension and dancing around each other, to declarations of love and sex. I just wasn't feeling it.
