About this listen

When Rebecca Weller’s pounding, dehydrated head woke her at 3:00 am, yet again, she stared at the ceiling, wondering why the hell she kept doing this to herself.

At 39 years of age - and a health coach, no less - she knew better than to down several bottles of wine per week. Her increasingly dysfunctional relationship with alcohol had to stop, but after decades of social drinking, she was terrified of what that might mean.

How could she live a joyful existence, without alcohol? How would she relax, socialize, or celebrate - without wine?

In sheer frustration, on a morning filled with regret and tears, she embarks on a three-month sobriety experiment that becomes a quest for self-discovery, and ultimately, transforms her entire world.

A Happier Hour is a heartfelt, moving, and inspiring story for anyone who has ever had to give up something they loved in order to get what they truly wanted.

I totally and utterly related to Becs story. Listening to this book was like the narrative in my head being verbalised. I have been in and out of sobriety for many years and I have always felt a calling to my creative side to help me stop drinking completely. Becs has helped me to tap into my creative side and so I am going to start my journey with that.
Thank you so much.
P.S. Dom sounds like to most supportive partner! I’m sure this must have helped you Becs? I don’t have that supportive partner.
Wishing you nothing but the very best of everything in life xx

The awareness Becs had for her feelings and behavior.

I enjoyed this book, very relatable and easy to listen to. A little shorter than what I usually get but nice, light listen.

Enjoyable

I could totally relate to her relationship to alcohol and her fight to give up and found that quite inspiring but I found it very hard to listen to. I think if she had of said sweetie one more time I would have screamed!

Relatable but hard to listen to
