Read this book!!!
I picked this at random as I had a credit to spend and thought it looked interesting. What a find! I was completely blown away by this, and resented having to stop listening for meals and sleeping. A bit reminiscent of Special Topics in Calamity Physics, but set in England. Brilliant characterization and plotting, I almost guessed who dun it, but didn’t see the twist at the end. I cannot recommend this too highly. Don’t be put off by the YA classification, this is a seriously good book.

Great twists and turns
I've had this book in my 'to listen' library for a year now. I'm so glad I finally got to it. I'm a secondary school librarian and this is a book I would recommend to any student who loves solving a mystery. I would even say its a good story for grown ups too.
Narration is great and the twist and turns in the story keep you going right till the end.

Unlike anything i've read before - Brilliant!
This is unlike any book I have ever read/listened to before! Please do not be put off by the YA tag, this is most definitely for adults too.
I found this story to be enthralling and real, with many twists and turns, shocks, sadness and intrigue. I was hooked from the beginning.. Very well read by the narrators too.

Not for me
I listen to too much true crime for a YA crime book. So many pitfalls , the fact a teenager gets information out of a drug dealer and suspects connected to a murder is not believable. I’ve heard true crime cases where actually trained detectives can’t get information out of people after 24 hours of interrogation but this young girl gets people to spill their guts. Maybe that’s the fantasy of this book and perhaps at 14 or 15 I would have loved this book. I couldn’t connect with the characters either but again I’m not the age demographic. It was a good story but I couldn’t suspend my disbelief in order to enjoy it.

Brilliant
This is the best book I have read in a long time.
I am an older person so it is more than just a teenage book, it is an excellent murder mystery.
Now to go and load up the next one in the series!

YA Murder
Surprised not to read more reviews commenting on the bad audio - the volume is all over the place - it’s like the woman reading is moving towards and away from the microphone. Some of her voices are really annoying and too childish. Did not expect this to be a YA Novel from the reviews - it’s a bit overwritten with totally unnecessary descriptions, repetition and basic summing up in parts.

For a teenage audience
Not sure why it's called "A good girl's guide to murder". It's a teenage girl leading a detective investigation. It is very curious how she has access to all those resources and is left to roam free around police material. Full of clichés but I guess that's ok for a teenage audience. At 31 years old I found it very unrealistic and rather predictable. Meh.

Excellent Murder Mystery
Very well written, well performed Story of murder and teen angst. The main protagonist is slightly precocious but still endearing. A story of many good people that do bad things and bad people that are just bad.
Not just for “young adults” either. Recommend to older readers too
