It is normal for reflexs to slow dow as we age. I wanted my mom to reassess her driving plan as she is not a quick as she once was. This book is professional and respectful to senior drivers. It gives real, actionable advice to reduce errors and wrecks. The book is well written and easy to follow for seniors.

While this book is aimed at seniors, I felt the advice was suitable for every driver. But it's true that we change. The paradox of being older and wiser, less impulsive, less distracted, is that our reaction times, vision, and quality of sleep often become less as we age. So it makes sense to be deliberate and mindful about the driving experience. This book is all about being deliberate as we get behind the wheel, to know our bodies and our limitations, to notice changes, to listen to feedback, and too keep ourselves (and everyone else) safe. I appreciated the checklists-for-every-trip method: paying attention to small details to prepare for being in the car and in traffic. Also, the mindfulness techniques for being fully present when driving are a great reminder and help to sharpen our senses. Most of us hate thinking about getting to the point where we don't drive anymore - and this book deals with the emotional side of this practical decision. I highly recommend this book to anyone who's noticing age-related changes in physical and mental functioning - or anyone who needs to talk to a loved one about those changes.

Full of great advice for all of us

As a senior this audio provided me the confidence to continue driving with new skills to handle even the challenging driving and anxeity. It provided ways to stay alert, reduce distractions as well as some great checklists and reflection exercises that really got me thinking. And finally some additional support when I just don't feel like I should drive like shuttles or Uber.

After years of avoiding highways, I took a three hour road trip last weekend using the book’s confidence map method. The gradual exposure and relaxation cues are simple but powerful. I can finally focus on the scenery instead of my heartbeat.

Helped me enjoy road trips again
