Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
What do you do when your relationship suddenly ends? How do you cope when the cosy 'coupley' future you had planned disappears?
Join comedian Helen Thorn from The Scummy Mummies as she haphazardly takes the plunge into single life for the first time in 22 years.
Helen shares her own roller-coaster journey from the initial shock of a surprise separation, the messy months hanging out in her PJs through to the highs of rediscovering online dating, tiny pants, rock-solid female friendships and the glorious joy of just being by herself.
With the help of relationship experts and an army of women 'who know', Get Divorced, Be Happy will show you that going it alone isn't the end, it is just the beginning, and you will come out the other side, stronger, happier and goddamn sassier than ever before.

Fun and warm story.
I laughed and cried along. Thanks for sharing your story, Helen x. Would have loved to hear more about managing the transition for your children... maybe that's another story.

relatable and fun
Helen is great. I laughed out loud several times. Not everything applies to everybody _ for example i do not have so many friends to rely on- but still,
it's a great book for boosting confidence.

So insightful & heartfelt
Absolutely loved this book. Its so incredibly well read by Helen and is funny, informative and heartfelt in equal measure.
I throughly enjoyed learning about Helen's experience and the empowerment and confidence she has gained from getting divorced and becoming a single parent.
This book is for everyone wanting to gain a new perspective on a subject than often isn't talked about and considered taboo.
Binged in a few days, highly recommend!

Best gift I did to myself so far!
I recommend this book to ALL WOMEN and all men! Yes, not just divorced or separated or those in toxic relationships (although even more for you guys and girls!). Listening to Helen telling her story and sharing loads of fab advice and wisdom was like having her next to me, like she’s my friend too now! Thanks for sharing this long journey and for normalising being happy after separation and showing the world that we are so much more than married to another person! So empowering I want all young women to listen to it too not just ‘forties’ like us lol!

A book for all women
You don't have to be divorced to read or listen to this book. It's a modern story of empowerment that any woman at any age can take something from.

Just what I needed
I started listening to this the weekend my ex and I agreed to separate. I knew of the scummy mummies and their approach to life and that Helen was divorced. The chance to hear how someone faced the end of an old way of life, a relationship and her identity as a married mother and turned it into a massive positive and time of self discovery was just what I needed. It has helped me understand and work through my grief of the end of our relationship and given me hope for myself and the future. Highly recommend.
It’s also bloody funny!!
