After my early years in the Middle East I moved with my family to the UK at the age of ten. I studied psychology and philosophy at the universities of Exeter and London and these fields have hugely influenced the books I write. I mix insights from these fields with examples from literature, film and TV to show how much more complicated we are than we seem, and believe that understanding this fact is vital to living well.
