Wendy Hinman is an adventurer, speaker and the award-winning author of two books, Tightwads on the Loose and Sea Trials. Tightwads on the Loose a popular travel adventure book about the 7-year, 34,000-mile voyage she took with her husband aboard a small violently rocking sailboat during which she alternated between feats worthy of Wonder Woman and Suzy Homemaker. It's full of humor and armchair thrills. Tightwads on the Loose was selected for the literature program for Western Washington University, won the Journey Award for best true life adventure story and was selected as a top travel book for women. Sea Trials has earned a Kirkus starred review and recognition as a Kirkus Best Book, called "A modern swashbuckling tale," and "completely riveting" is racking up many other favorable reviews already. Both books have won the Readers Favorite award. Wendy Hinman has an insatiable curiosity and a natural inclination to share her discoveries. She loves stories: telling them, writing them, reading them and editing them. And she has plenty of engaging stories to tell, some serious, some not-so-serious. After years trotting the globe for business and vacation travel, she instigated a waterborne adventure on a 31-foot boat. Seven years later, she managed to return sane (or so she thinks), still married and innocent of plotting murder or divorce despite many "character-building opportunities" along the way. She's shared many of her (mis)adventures , yet many still remained untold. With so much material, she's sure to be telling stories for decades to come. She is also working on fiction. Hinman is a sought-after speaker who has presented around the world for a number of years and is a club president of Toastmasters International.
