Vince Taplin is an award-winning author who mashes subtle noir into modern thrillers, with dark humor, sharp turns, and characters who are witty and believable but never predictable. His stories go where polite fiction won't: small towns with big secrets, marriages with worse ones, and the machines and money that make people do strange things.

He broke out with the psychological thriller Alex Six, following The RC Act and The Mourning Bell, and the dark-humor collection New Money Old Honey. In 2026 he released five novels on the same day: Pringletown, The Lumen Drip, Forty to One, Wake Up Clean, and Vice Box. Each one had been waiting since he wrote it, and he decided they'd waited long enough.

A serial entrepreneur with a contagious passion for life, Vince writes the way he lives: all in, a little dangerous, and always with a punchline somewhere in the dark.
