Before becoming a novelist, Victoria worked as a journalist for the BBC, The Telegraph and Al Jazeera. Her background in journalism brings authenticity, detailed research and narrative drive to her fiction. She also lectures in journalism at Kingston University, where she teaches storytelling and supports the next generation of writers and broadcasters.

Victoria lives on an island in the River Thames with her husband, two children and their cat. When she is not writing, she enjoys gardening, singing and exploring the history that so often inspires her novels.
