Born in Israel, Victoria Avilan studied fiction at UCLA with writing guru Claire McNab. She is the award-winning author of A Small Country About to Vanish (GCLS & Rainbow Awards), and the co-author of a family cookbook with her mother, titled My Delicious Life. When not writing, she hikes the wild trails of Palos Verdes. The Barrier (psych thriller/fantasy), is her fourth novel. She lives with her wife Tracey and their rescue cocker spaniels in a beach city closely resembling Fantasy Cove of THE BARRIER, amongst real and fictional people, who hope to survive the approaching apocalypse.
