Ty Hall, PhD, is a musician, educator, and writer based in Ottawa, Canada. After sustaining a moderate traumatic brain injury at age twenty-one, he spent years navigating recovery, rehabilitation, education, work, and identity from the inside. His writing draws on lived experience, academic training, and a practical understanding of how recovery unfolds in everyday life.

Ty holds a PhD in Cultural Mediations and has worked as a singer-songwriter, performer, private music instructor, and researcher. His work often explores the connections between music, adaptation, communication, and resilience. In Recalibrating After Brain Injury, he writes for families, survivors, and caregivers with honesty, care, and a grounded belief that quieter forms of progress still count.
