Tracy Falbe always knew that she would write novels. Plotting the adventures of multiple characters brings calm to her normally chaotic mind. When she writes fiction, she says that she enters a flow state where time drops away and all that remains is how to compose the next sentence. She grew up in Michigan, where she still resides, but also lived many years in Nevada and California. Everything from the soaring mountains and frothing coasts of the Western United States to the intricacies of human society inspires her fiction. She earned a journalism degree from California State University, Chico in 2000. Since that time, she has devoted herself to writing despite raising children and contending with the typical financial challenges that come with living as an independent contractor in the “real” world. As of 2024, she has published 12 novels in the fantasy and sci fi genres. If you met her in real life, you would never guess at the drama circulating around her brain at any given moment as she contemplates the next moves of her fictional characters.
