Tonimaria Anne Hawkins, also known as Toni Hawkins, was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. She discovered her passion for writing at the age of twelve after being encouraged by her middle school English teacher to write short stories—stories that would eventually grow into full-length novels. English quickly became her favorite subject, and her love of storytelling has continued to grow ever since.

During high school, Hawkins found inspiration in the works of Stephen King, Toni Morrison, Stephenie Meyer, Charlaine Harris, James Patterson, and J.K. Rowling, whose storytelling helped shape her own creative voice.

Hawkins is an award-winning international bestselling author best known for The Gifted Series. She has received International Bestseller recognition from both the Global Book Awards and the UK Book Awards. She is currently working on the final installment of The Gifted Series while also developing stories that explore romance, romantic comedy, LGBTQ+ themes, and supernatural horror.

When she’s not writing, Hawkins enjoys spending time with family and friends, binge-watching shows such as American Horror Story, Salem, The Boys, School Spirits, and Good Omens. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and a proud member of Alpha Sigma Tau.
