Tomy A. Cummins is a pastor, communicator, and mental health advocate who serves as the Lead Student Pastor at Plum Creek Church in Castle Rock, Colorado. Across more than two decades of ministry, Tomy has helped create a student environment marked by psychological safety, biblical discipleship, and honest conversations about mental health. His work integrates the wisdom of scripture with evidence-based mental health practices, shaped through his training in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), Teen Mental Health First Aid (TMHFA), LivingWorks safeTALK and ASIST, Soul Shop, and QPRT Suicide Risk Detection. Tomy’s passion is helping everyday followers of Jesus become healing, hopeful presences in the lives of those who are suffering by creating a rhythm of life that is deeply connected to the Creator. Whether teaching students, walking with families, training volun‐ teers, or writing, his heart beats for the church to reflect the compas‐ sionate presence of the Good Shepherd. Tomy lives in Colorado, with his wife, Mendy, who is completing a dual-master’s program in clinical mental health and school counseling at Denver Seminary, their two children, Laney Drew and Judah James, and an extremely affectionate golden doodle, Sir Chester Chauntavious Chewingston Esquire (Chewie for short). When he’s not writing or preaching, Tomy enjoys time with his family, reading, playing disc golf, snowboarding, birdwatching, and cheering for the Oklahoma City Thunder like they can hear him from 600 miles away.
