Binky, is in love again. The object of his affection is Anjelica De Souza Kleinhoffer- the well-known spiritual guide and philanthropist. Cyril is determined to help him win the lady. Bentley, however, is having a snit and Cyril must devise a plot without his help.

Cyril and Binky are in the soup again. They are forced to flee in Cheeseworth's land yacht, which becomes a seething cauldron of family and friends.

When Aunt Hypatia arrives with the horrifying Euphonia Gumboot in tow, Bentley suggests an escape to New York in the company dirigible. Alas, the cat finds its way out of the bag and the dirigible becomes a kind of flying ark filled with friends, enemies... and Miss Gumboot.

On the one day of the year when Bentley returns to the factory for a tune-up, Cyril's Aunt Hypatia enlists him in a complex scheme. All is not as it seems, however- there are plots within plots- which all come to a head within the terrifying twists of The Labyrinth!

Cyril Chippington-Smythe, the world's richest man, awakens from a drunken stupor to find that he may have engaged himself to Alice Witherspoon. His mechanical manservant, Bentley, concocts a plot to free his master from any possible entanglements, but Alice has more than matrimony on her mind.
