Timothy R. Baldwin is a crime fiction author writing primarily in the mystery, detective, and thriller genres. His work blends classic noir influences with contemporary themes, emphasizing sharp dialogue, moral complexity, and tightly paced investigations that explore the cost of uncovering the truth. A seasoned educator with over eighteen years of experience, Baldwin teaches English, Creative Writing, Film, and Yearbook at the high school level. He holds a B.S. in Theatre from Towson University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University, and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature from Fairleigh Dickinson University. His background in theatre and literature strongly informs his character-driven, cinematic approach to storytelling. Originally from Syracuse, New York, Baldwin now resides in Maryland. He began writing in earnest in 2014 after encouragement from his students and credits his lifelong love of reading—instilled early through family traditions—as the foundation of his storytelling. His influences include authors across mystery, thriller, and fantasy genres. Since his debut publication in 2019, Baldwin has built a growing catalog of crime fiction, including the Cassie Maddox Mystery series, along with the Kahale & Claude Mystery Series for younger readers. Across series and standalones, his work remains focused on investigation, consequence, and character. When not writing or teaching, Baldwin enjoys reading, camping, savoring cigars, target shooting, and attending live music concerts.
