Tamela Rich is an author and collaborating editor who has been reading the American landscape from the seat of a motorcycle since 2010. She has traveled extensively across the United States, parts of Canada, and several European countries — often solo.

Her memoir, Buckskin Rides Again, follows Tamela as she rides her BMW from North Carolina to Arizona — through the Ozarks and across the old highways of the Southwest. The visit is a year overdue. Buckskin is a story about distance: the kind measured in miles and the kind measured in years.

Tamela is the co-author of JOAN: Life Beyond the Script with Joan Lunden and the editor of Two Old Broads by Whoopi Goldberg and M.E. Hecht. She has received three grants from the Arts & Science Council to support her literary work.

A contributing editor and columnist for On the Level, the magazine of the BMW Riders Association, Tamela lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, and considers every solo road trip the prelude to a delightful homecoming.
