Takara James (1990-) was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late Mr. & Mrs. James and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where she was raised by her sister after the death of her mother in 1996. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing. Takara enjoys frequenting the library or book stores. Her go-to reads include memoirs, contemporary fiction, thrillers and suspense, and of course a good drama or love story. As a writer who has studied literature for more than fourteen years, she also enjoys classic literary works by James Baldwin, Langston Hughes, Emily Dickinson, William Shakespeare, Robert Frost, and many others. Becoming a writer has been more than a fantasy world Takara has engulfed herself in. It is what helps her shed light on global issues within the communities of everyone. She's inspired by the things she sees in the media, chats with friends and social media connections, and most of all, social interaction with people every day.
