I live with my beautiful wife Janie, a retired teacher, in Caldwell, Idaho. After retiring from a career in business, I've been able to write more often, but I am also a musician (drums/keyboards), songwriter and occasionally play with a local band or at a church service, so I keep busy enough. Janie and I are grandparents to numerous grandkids, (over 30) but if there’s any spare time, I love to tinker on woodworking projects and fix unbroken things. I has always dabbled with writing poems, short stories, and song lyrics, but this particular story starts when my two oldest daughters (3 total) were very young. They loved to play with their little Weeble-Wobble people under the hanging clothes in their closet. In the back of that closet was a small door. One day, they asked me what that door was for. At that time, I was traveling a lot and had to leave on a trip. I told them, that when I got back, I would have a little story to tell them to let them know what was behind that door. When I got home, they loved the story, but then asked, “Then what happened?” Of course, my simple little 3 page story grew over the years, into what it is now The Hiding Door, my first novel.
