Suja Sukumar is an award winning author who writes diverse Young Adult suspense novels. Her debut YA thriller, When Mimi Went Missing, won the Anthony award for Best YA/Children's novel 2025 and the Pencraft award for Best YA general genre 2025. It was featured in Teen Vogue, Crime Reads, Publisher's Weekly, Library Journal, Booklist, Foreword Reviews, among others. It has also been selected by the Detroit Public Schools Community District for their Local Author panel. She is a member of SCBWI, Crime Writers of Color, Sisters in Crime, and International Thriller Writers. She is also a primary care physician in suburban Detroit, where she lives with her family.
