I was raised just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after high school I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. After working construction for a few months, I went back to college at Pennsylvania State University and graduated in 1990. I met my wife Carolyn at Penn State and we moved out to Idaho after graduation. I worked as a surveyor and fire fighter (seasonally) in the USDA Forest Service from 1990-2008. In 1996, I earned my teaching credential from Lewis & Clark State University. I was a regular classroom teacher in public school from 1997-2008. I earned my master’s degree in Education Administration, and I was a principal at all levels (elementary, middle, junior high, and high school) in public school from 2008-2024. I dealt with everyday troubles, horrendous situations, and also incredible triumphs, with thousands of young people for nearly thirty years. My own family consists of my wife and five, grown, very successful children. I am a musician, I’ve performed many times, a few times in front of many thousands of people at some larger gigs. I travel incessantly (love immersion in other cultures), my wife and I still have cousins in Italy we love to visit. We’ve traveled over all of the Americas and Europe. I love to cook. I stay fit, even into my older years. I previously had an article published through the Idaho Association of School Administrators which centered on the importance of teaching music. Writing has always been a passion of mine; writing clarifies everything!
