Stephany K. Thomann is a Swiss nonfiction writer. She writes about self-awareness, personal responsibility and the often complicated distance between knowing what to do and being able to do it in real life.

Born in a small industrial town near Moscow, Stephany experienced depression as a teenager. Those years shaped her interest in how people learn to understand themselves and take ownership of their lives. After studying architecture and working in corporate roles across Russia, Finland, Ukraine and Switzerland, she turned her attention to social work and writing.

Stephany lives in co-op housing in Zurich and parents two teenage boys. Although her books explore different stages of life, their purpose remains the same: to make difficult ideas easier to understand—and useful in ordinary life.
