Sophie Diao is an illustrator living in Oakland. She's created many Google Doodles and has worked with Pixar, Cartoon Network, and the Ad Council. She most recently illustrated I AM GOLDEN (Feiwel & Friends), which was an instant New York Times bestseller. Previously, she illustrated I AM THE WIND (Page Street Kids), about the wind's travels around the earth and the many different animals it meets, which received a starred review from Kirkus and was one of their best picture books of 2020. She also illustrated SARAH AND THE BIG WAVE (Henry Holt BYR), of which Kirkus wrote "Diao's illustrations are extraordinary."
