Amrita Skye Blaine writes poems, memoir, fiction and short essays, developing themes of aging, disability, spiritual awakening, and most of all, the process of unlearning–the heart of the matter. In 2003, she received an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University. She has retired from teaching fiction and memoir in the older adults program at Santa Rosa Junior College in northern California, and now writes a poem a day. She has had poems and personal essays published in sixteen anthologies, and in national magazines: “In Context” (now known as “Yes!” magazine) and “Catalyst.” Her poetry collection, "every riven thing" is coming out from Finishing Line Press mid-2025.
