You want it dark, you want it real, and you want to be able to continue with more than one book. That's great, because I'm the kind of author who doesn't add useless filler to something that's supposed to help you escape the day-to-day bullshit of reality. Just crisp, slap-you-in-the-face reading that blows your mind and maybe even makes you keep the lights on at night. Just don't...you know...come crying to me about the dog dying because I've kept it serial-killer real for you, when you'd prefer the fur babies to make it all the way to the end, unlike Alice, who you decided should die a violent death in Chapter 1 because of her...shhhh. Almost gave away the ending there. Anyway, you wanted real, and that's the sort of detail some readers tend to skip over when reading about real-life monsters who started slow. So, who am I exactly? Just an ex-maximum-security prison officer with several years' worth of stories from behind bars, watching the kinds of monsters you think only exist in thriller and horror novels. Don't believe me? Try my Prison Days series over in the True Crime section, a complete series stretching across 21 books. Or how about my MAX series, a fictional prison-based completed series that will definitely suck you into a violent, confronting environment where anything goes. For something darker, and inspired by a real-life serial killer I watched in jail, check out the Lawson Chronicles, but be warned...it's dark...like dog-dying kind of dark and has given me enough 1-star reviews from angry dog lovers to be able to display them on t-shirts (something I do for real). And that "sick crap", as one reader put it, has an audience of thousands, which is why the Samantha Rader series spawned another 10-book series as a direct continuation. My Grace Miller series might be better if stuff like that bothers you, a lighter thriller with a touch of nostalgia being set in the 1960s and 70s, but still giving you a great mystery to try and solve. I have six series now, stretched across more than forty books, and I never stop writing. It's what I love, since I don't really make friends easy and tend to prefer the company of animals, which might surprise you given that they tend to live short lives in some of my works. I'm also hard of hearing, which is why people often wonder whether I ignored their questions, which I sometimes do by choice.
