Recycling is Like Magic creates fun, easy-to-understand books that teach kids (and their grown-ups!) that metal has value and can be recycled forever—right at your magical local scrapyard. Our 30-year goal is to eliminate metal from the waste stream through education, so no can, pan, or tin ever lands in the trash again. We hope you enjoy our metal recycling series: The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans; A Recycling Adventure to the Scrapyard; and coming soon, A Recycling Adventure to the Steel Mill. About the Authors • Shaziya M. Jaffer is an elementary teacher in the Burnaby School District who loves cheering on her daughter’s ice hockey team. She’s passionate about helping children care for the Earth through simple, everyday actions. • Jessica Alexanderson (aka “Scuba Jess”) is a Seattle-based diver and underwater photographer. After 15 years in container shipping, she shifted careers to focus on youth recycling education and leads clean-up dives to keep oceans healthy. • Brad W. Rudover grew up in his family’s recycling yard and blends real-world industry experience with business training (B.S. in Small Business Management, Ferris State University; MBA, Western Washington University). He brings a spirit of gratitude and generosity to every project.
