Shawn E. Crapo was born in 1971 and raised in the boring city of Decatur, Illinois. From a young age, he immersed himself in the captivating worlds created by fantasy authors such as R. A. Salvatore, Terry Brooks, and J.R.R. Tolkien. These influential literary works ignited his imagination and kindled a lifelong passion for storytelling. Driven by a deep-seated desire to craft his own fantasy series, Shawn embarked on a quest that spanned decades. Despite encountering numerous obstacles along the way, he persevered, never losing sight of his dream. Finally, in 2011, after years of dedicated effort, he triumphed over adversity and completed the first installment of the Dragon Chronicles. However, the initial volume of the Dragon Chronicles took an unexpected turn, diverging from Shawn's original vision. Undeterred by this deviation, he embraced the change and allowed the story to flourish in its newfound direction. The book captivated readers and achieved remarkable success, catapulting Shawn into the ranks of esteemed indie fantasy authors. Bolstered by this achievement, Shawn continued to expand the vivid universe he had created. He delved into the depths of his imagination and penned two prequel series, intricately interwoven with the Dragon Chronicles, each illuminating the rich tapestry of the fantastical realm he had forged. Today, Shawn E. Crapo resides in the scenic Brown County, Indiana, where he continues to nurture his creativity. Alongside his writing endeavors, he explores other artistic passions, working as an artist, guitar tech, and computer artist. Through his multifaceted talents, he brings forth captivating tales and transports readers to extraordinary realms, enchanting them with his words and captivating their hearts and minds.
