Sharon Chapman was born in Knoxville, Tennessee—a region rich with small-town charm and a deep-rooted tradition of storytelling. Growing up in such an environment, it was only natural that she developed a passion for writing stories and poetry to share with others. Her literary talents have been recognized in several ways. One of her poems was featured in Timeless Voices: The International Library of Poetry, appearing on pages 2 and 3. Several of her poems have also been set to music and copyrighted. Among her published songs are Does God Cry?, Faithful Friend, and Wrinkled Kids. Storytelling runs deep in Sharon’s family, passed down through generations. Drawing on the memories and tales of her older relatives, she brings to life the rich heritage of Appalachian days gone by, often weaving her original poetry into these narratives. Her work reflects the influence of her Scottish and Irish ancestry, blending traditional customs, culinary practices, and regional slang into the tapestry of Appalachian culture. Sharon’s grandchildren have inspired a number of her children’s books, and she looks forward to capturing even more stories as they grow. In addition to her children’s literature, she has also written books in the mystery and suspense genres including an adult series, "Dark Hearts - Secret Whispers".
