Shannon Funkhouser picked up her first Stephen King novel years ago and caught the fiction bug - now she writes supernatural thrillers, psychological suspense and epic fantasy, along with children's books as Shan Marie.

When she's not crafting characters or plotting twists, Shannon works as a dispatcher and mom to two young men - jobs that have taught her plenty about staying calm under pressure (a skill that comes in handy during deadline crunches(. She believes in the power of persistence, second chances, and stories that say with you long after the last page.

Shannon lives for the moments when a reader tells her a book made them feel something - whether that's a child giggling at a silly story or an adult unable to sleep because they had to know what happened next.
