Shannon Daley-Harris is the Associate Dean of Auburn Theological Seminary, guiding Auburn's leadership development programming and resources in support of Auburn's mission to identify and strengthen leaders from the pulpit to the public square to build community, bridge divides, pursue justice, and heal the world. As the director of Just Love Families, Shannon consulted with congregations and nonprofits to develop initiatives to nurture and strengthen children and families. Previously, Shannon served for over three decades with the Children's Defense Fund, creating the multi faith National Observance of Children's Sabbaths and the Proctor Institute for Child Advocacy Ministry, collaborating with denominations and religious organizations to engage their members in service and advocacy with and for children, and authoring numerous articles, chapters, and publications. Prior to that, Shannon worked with children and families in areas hard hit by the Troubles in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and taught at a school for children with learning disabilities in Trenton, NJ. An ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A), Shannon holds a D.Min. from Drew Theological School, M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary, and a B.A. from Brown University. Shannon lives in Princeton, N.J., with her husband Sam, and is the mother of two young adults, Micah and Sophie.
