Shannon Brown is an author, survivor, and lifelong storyteller who believes in the power of gentle truth. Writing has been her refuge since childhood, first through journals, poetry, and music, and now through books that honor resilience, imagination, and hope. Her debut memoir-style novel, Because of Jane, was independently published in December 2025, just before her 40th birthday. Told through the eyes of a childhood doll, the book explores survival, secrecy, and strength from a child’s perspective, offering emotional honesty without relying on graphic detail. Jane represents the quiet companions and inner worlds that help children endure what they cannot yet name. As a survivor of abuse, Shannon spent nearly two decades as an early childhood educator, nanny, and child advocate. She is also a travel advisor and lifelong Disney fan who believes that travel and storytelling both have the power to heal and restore joy. She lives in Massachusetts with her family and her pug, Loki.
